Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of STEMExpress, including our website, online learning clubs, educational sessions, learning materials and related services.

Last updated: 16 September 2026

STEMExpress is operated by DREO Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

By registering a student for a STEMExpress programme, booking or purchasing our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Operator DREO Solutions Ltd

1. About STEMExpress

STEMExpress provides online STEM learning clubs and educational activities primarily for school-age students in the UK.

Our learning approach is built around three principles:

Learn. Practice. Explain.

Our programmes are designed to supplement students' education by helping them develop subject knowledge, understanding, problem-solving skills, confidence and the ability to explain what they have learned.

2. Parents and Guardians

As our programmes are primarily intended for children and young people, registrations and purchases should normally be completed by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over.

By registering a child, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and to provide information reasonably required for their participation.

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that information supplied to STEMExpress is accurate and for informing us of relevant changes.

3. Our Programmes

STEMExpress may offer programmes covering subjects including:

  • Mathematics
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Other STEM-related subjects and activities

Programmes may be designed for different school years, abilities, examination boards or learning objectives.

The subjects, schedules, tutors, group sizes, prices, programme structures and availability may change from time to time.

The details applicable to a particular programme will be displayed or communicated before registration.

4. Small-Group Learning

STEMExpress primarily provides live online learning through small groups.

Where a programme is advertised with a particular maximum group size, we will normally aim to operate within that limit.

The actual number of students attending an individual session may be lower because of registrations, absences or other circumstances.

STEMExpress may also introduce other learning formats, including workshops, revision sessions, individual support, events or larger educational activities.

5. Session Duration

The expected duration of each session will be communicated as part of the relevant programme information.

Sessions may occasionally start or finish slightly outside the scheduled time because of reasonable operational or technical circumstances.

6. Fees

Fees for STEMExpress programmes and learning sessions may vary depending on the programme, subject, session format, duration and any introductory or promotional offers available at the time.

The current applicable price will be displayed or communicated before a parent or guardian completes a booking or makes a payment.

STEMExpress may change prices or introduce, amend or withdraw promotional or introductory offers from time to time.

Any price change will normally apply to future bookings and will not retrospectively change the price of sessions or programmes already purchased unless otherwise agreed.

Where a programme is purchased as a block of sessions, the price applicable at the time of purchase will normally apply to that block.

7. Payment

Where payment is required, it must be made using one of the payment methods accepted by STEMExpress.

Depending on the programme, payment may be requested:

  • Per individual session
  • For a block of sessions
  • For a programme or course
  • Under another payment arrangement communicated before booking

A student's place may not be confirmed until the required registration and payment have been completed.

Where third-party payment providers are used, their own terms and conditions may also apply.

8. Cancellations and Missed Sessions

We understand that students may occasionally be unable to attend.

Parents or guardians should notify STEMExpress as early as reasonably possible if their child cannot attend a scheduled session.

Eligibility for a refund, credit, transfer or alternative session may depend on the programme, booking arrangement, circumstances and notice provided.

Any specific cancellation arrangements applicable to a programme will be communicated during the booking process.

Where a student does not attend a scheduled session without appropriate notice, STEMExpress may treat the session as used.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict any statutory cancellation or refund rights available under applicable UK consumer law.

9. Cancellation or Rescheduling by STEMExpress

Occasionally, we may need to cancel, postpone or reschedule a session because of circumstances such as:

  • Tutor illness or unavailability
  • Technical problems
  • Operational difficulties
  • Insufficient enrolment
  • Events outside our reasonable control

Where STEMExpress cancels a paid session and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, we will normally offer an appropriate replacement session, credit or refund for the affected session.

Where reasonably possible, parents will be informed in advance.

10. Tutors

STEMExpress selects tutors based on factors including subject knowledge, academic background, communication ability and suitability for working with students.

Tutors working directly with children are expected to comply with STEMExpress safeguarding requirements and undergo appropriate checks for their role, including DBS checks where applicable.

While we aim to provide continuity, STEMExpress cannot guarantee that a particular tutor will teach every session.

We may substitute tutors where reasonably necessary.

11. Educational Approach and Outcomes

STEMExpress provides supplementary educational support.

Our programmes are designed to help students understand concepts, practise applying their knowledge and develop confidence in explaining their thinking.

STEMExpress does not guarantee any particular examination grade, predicted grade, school result, academic improvement or educational outcome.

Academic outcomes can depend on many factors outside our control, including attendance, participation, independent study, school teaching, examination performance and individual circumstances.

STEMExpress is not intended to replace formal schooling or compulsory education.

12. Student Participation and Behaviour

Students are expected to participate appropriately and respectfully.

This includes:

  • Treating tutors and other students respectfully
  • Following reasonable instructions from tutors
  • Avoiding bullying, harassment or discriminatory behaviour
  • Avoiding inappropriate or offensive language or material
  • Not deliberately disrupting sessions
  • Using learning platforms and technology appropriately
  • Protecting passwords, meeting links and access information
  • Respecting the privacy of other participants

Serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour may result in a student being removed from a session or programme.

Where appropriate, STEMExpress will discuss concerns with the student's parent or guardian.

13. Online Learning and Technology

Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that students have suitable equipment and internet access to participate in online sessions.

Depending on the programme, students may require:

  • A laptop, desktop computer or suitable device
  • Reliable internet access
  • Microphone
  • Speakers or headphones
  • Webcam where appropriate
  • Suitable web browser
  • Access to specified learning platforms

STEMExpress cannot guarantee uninterrupted participation where technical problems arise from the student's equipment, internet connection or third-party systems outside our reasonable control.

14. Cameras and Microphones

Students may be encouraged to use cameras and microphones where this supports participation and effective learning.

Any specific requirements will be communicated where applicable.

Students should participate from an appropriate environment and should avoid displaying private, sensitive or inappropriate information in their background.

15. Safeguarding

The safety and welfare of students are important to STEMExpress.

Tutors, students and parents are expected to follow our safeguarding arrangements and appropriate standards of behaviour.

Tutors must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.

Tutors should not establish unauthorised private communication or relationships with students through personal social-media accounts, messaging applications or other personal communication channels.

Safeguarding concerns may be escalated to appropriate safeguarding professionals or authorities where necessary.

Please read our separate Safeguarding Policy for further information.

16. Recording, Photography and Screenshots

Parents and students must not record, photograph, screenshot or distribute a STEMExpress session or material showing another participant without appropriate permission.

If STEMExpress intends to record a session, parents and students will be informed as appropriate and consent will be obtained where required.

Any recordings made by STEMExpress will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and safeguarding procedures.

17. Learning Materials and Intellectual Property

STEMExpress may provide students with learning materials including:

  • Worksheets
  • Presentations
  • Practice questions
  • Videos
  • Graphics
  • Revision materials
  • Digital resources
  • Quizzes
  • Tutor-created content

Unless otherwise stated, these materials are provided for the student's personal educational use only.

Materials owned by STEMExpress or DREO Solutions Ltd must not be commercially reproduced, resold, published, uploaded publicly, substantially copied or distributed to others without permission.

Third-party educational material remains subject to the intellectual-property rights of its respective owner.

18. Privacy and Personal Information

STEMExpress takes the privacy of students, parents and guardians seriously.

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data-protection requirements.

Because our services involve children, parents and guardians should review our Privacy Policy before registering a student.

DREO Solutions Ltd is the data controller for personal information processed through STEMExpress unless otherwise stated.

19. Photographs, Videos and Testimonials

STEMExpress may occasionally wish to use photographs, videos, student work, feedback or testimonials to promote our programmes.

We will not assume permission to use an identifiable child's photograph, video or testimonial for marketing simply because the child participates in STEMExpress.

Where appropriate, permission will be obtained from a parent or guardian before identifiable material involving a child is used for marketing or promotional purposes.

20. Communication

STEMExpress may communicate with parents or guardians regarding:

  • Registrations
  • Session schedules
  • Changes or cancellations
  • Payments
  • Learning information
  • Programme updates
  • Safeguarding matters
  • Other administrative information

Important communication concerning a child will normally be directed to the parent or guardian rather than relying on private communication with the child.

Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and marketing requirements.

21. Third-Party Services

STEMExpress may use third-party providers to support services including:

  • Video conferencing
  • Online learning
  • Website hosting
  • Email
  • Cloud storage
  • Registration
  • Payments
  • Communications
  • Administration

These providers may operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

STEMExpress is not responsible for failures of independent third-party services that are outside our reasonable control, although we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption to students.

22. Website Information

We take reasonable care to ensure information published on the STEMExpress website is accurate and up to date.

However, programme details, schedules, availability, fees and educational information may change.

Occasional errors may also occur.

Where there is a material difference between general website information and specific information provided when making a confirmed booking, the information provided for the particular booking will normally apply.

23. Suspending or Ending Participation

STEMExpress may suspend or end a student's participation where reasonably necessary.

This may include circumstances involving:

  • Serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour
  • Bullying or harassment
  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Misuse of our systems
  • Unauthorised distribution of learning materials
  • Serious disruption to other students
  • Persistent non-payment of applicable fees

Where appropriate and safe to do so, we will communicate with the student's parent or guardian before taking longer-term action.

24. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in these Terms affects statutory rights available to consumers.

Subject to those protections, STEMExpress and DREO Solutions Ltd will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the relevant agreement was entered into or for losses resulting from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

STEMExpress provides educational support and does not accept responsibility for particular examination, school, university or future educational outcomes.

25. Events Outside Our Control

Sometimes we may be unable to provide a service as planned because of events outside our reasonable control.

These may include:

  • Significant internet or technology failures
  • Severe weather
  • Emergencies
  • Government restrictions
  • Disruption to third-party services
  • Other unforeseen events

Where this happens, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and communicate appropriate arrangements to affected parents.

26. Changes to Programmes

We may make reasonable changes to programmes where necessary, including changes to:

  • Session schedules
  • Tutors
  • Learning materials
  • Delivery platforms
  • Programme structures
  • Curriculum sequencing

Where a significant change affects an existing booking, we will aim to inform affected parents or guardians.

27. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions as STEMExpress develops or where our services, operational requirements or applicable laws change.

The latest version will be published on the STEMExpress website.

Material changes affecting an existing paid booking will be communicated where appropriate.
